Dress Rehearsal will be in each class the week prior to performances'. No theatre dress rehearsal.
The shows have no intermission. All students should be back stage 20 minutes before the start of the show. Each class has a parent or two in charge of the group. Take your child to the parent in charge waiting for you in the dressing rooms. After leaving your child backstage, please return to the theater to enjoy the show. Their teacher will meet them backstage with the parent in charge and escort the children on and off the stage. The parent in charge will stay with the children and watch them perform in the wings. When they have finished dancing, the parent will escort them to the dressing rooms for parent pick up. Please pick up your child when they are done dancing, NOT AT THE END OF THE SHOW! After you have picked up your child, take them back into the theater so that they may enjoy the other dances. Dancers will need a ticket to sit in the theater, unless they wish to sit on their parents lap, at no charge.
Students in more than one number stay backstage to prepare for their next dance. They will need their parent with them backstage at this time; the parent will take them to the next group parent. A mother in charge of a group is not responsible to deliver a student to their next dance . Do not wear your costumes to the theatre . Please change at the theatre in your assigned dressing room.
Show running order will be posted at all Studios' in May. Please check to see where in the show your child will be dancing. Each class performs in one show on one day. Advanced students are in multiple shows.
Theatre doors open to the theatre and backstage ½ hour prior to each show. The shows start ON TIME and we ask that the audience be in their seats for the opening number. Please remember, NO strollers are allowed in the theatre at any time . Please park and leave them in the lobby. When entering and exiting the theatre to pick up your child, you MUST go in and out only through the rear doors. You cannot use the side doors. Please go in and out between dances, as it is distracting to the dancers and disturbing to the audience watching the performance.
Tickets ALL SEATS WILL BE RESERVED! Adults $18.00, Child/Senior $12.00. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 15 th at the Main Studio, 10:00am-1:00pm. Tickets will be on sale in the office starting Monday through Friday from 2:30-5:30 and Saturday from 9:00-1:00, starting May 17 th . NO REFUNDS . Young children sitting on laps do not need a ticket. Tickets may be exchanged for different shows pending availability. Please make sure you purchase tickets for the correct date that your child is dancing. Tickets are also sold at the door before performance times, if still available.
Video Taping The shows will be professionally taped and copies will be available for your purchase. DVD's are by Videos By Jeff . Cost will be $35 per DVD, or two shows for $65 (for 3 or more, please see Sylvia). Order forms will be available in the office and at the theater. DVD's may be ordered through the Sunday shows . Flash Photography is not allowed in the theatre . It is a hazard and a distraction to the dancers. You may use a camera with a no-flash mode only. No video taping allowed!!
Studio Photos (optional) Students pictures in costumes will be taken at the Dancers Loft in May and June by Mueller Photography. Sign up for your time in the office starting May 1 st . Pictures will be displayed in the seating area of the Main Studio starting in September (there is no cost for this). You may also purchase your child's pictures; order forms will be available at picture time.
Five and Ten Year Achievement Awards If you are to receive an award, please come back stage toward the end of your show. A signup sheet for awards is posted on the office door, or you may call the office. Be sure to sign up and indicate which show you will be receiving your award. Not having your name called on stage can be very disappointing.
Fundraiser'sStudio tee-shirts, flowers and gifts will be for sale in the lobby at the recital. You may pre-order flowers for your dancer beginning May 15 th . Please leave order form and payment for flowers in the office. All flowers may be picked up on the day of each show in the lobby. The money is used to sponsor the Competition Team to attend the National Dance Competition Finals in Las Vegas in June. Please help support our team!
Volunteers are needed to act as ushers, box office, etc. Sign up in the office if you can assist.
Please remember a few rules NO eating or gum chewing in the theater or in your costume . NO jewelry on stage, please leave it at home as we cannot be responsible for watching purses and valuables. Hair should be neat and styled according to the teachers directions. Light make up, using lip stick and blush may be used by the dancers. Check with the teacher about your attire; tights, socks, etc. Audience members and dancers will only be allowed to enter and exit the theatre during the applause i.e. in between dances. This is out of consideration for the performers and other audience members.
NO underpants under costumes!! No nail polish.
Calendar Reminders : Summer School -- 6 weeks, July 5 th -August 14 th . New this year are morning Dance Camps for children. You may sign up on line at MPAOD.com, and schedules are available on line and in all Studios' in April.
