Royal Academy of DanceThe children and student Ballet classes follow the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance (London). This graded system provides the dancer with a strong foundation of classical technique from Primary through to Advanced II. Students have the opportunity to take the annual Royal Academy examination for each level, whereby gaining more personal satisfaction and achievement. It is a requirement to take two classes a week (Grade II through Grade V) and three classes a week in Advanced levels in order to enter an examination and gain control for optimum results. Advanced exams are held in March, children's exams (Primary through Grade V) in April each year. Examinations are optional. Students are allowed to go "en Pointe" once their bodies are physically strong and developed and it is then a requirement to take three 1 - hour technique classes per week. Adult Pointe classes are at the discretion of the teacher and student. |
